Try to use masking tape to cover the nails rather than scotch tape i used scotch tape because i couldnt find masking tape if you have neither then use lip balm instead but its not as easy to. Add whatever you use to thin your polish normally just it acetone and try again. To test to see it its new shake the metal balls inside it.

This can cause the polish to not spread as well. When ur doing the marble nails the nail polish has to be thin. If they move around alot the nail polish will work. I have to agree with deltonya on this.

Unfiltered depending on where you live your tap water probably has different minerals. If you re having any problems with the polish not spreading well make sure it s not too thick.
