If a small amount of water has leaked toward the edges of the flooring pull up any quarter round shoe molding or baseboards around the perimeter. Heat and moisture are the two most common causes of laminate separation. In cases where water saturates laminate flooring the wood swells laminate layers separate and or buckle.

Spill grape juice or tomato sauce on your countertop then clean it with ease and not leave a stain. Laminate can handle hot pots and pans up to 400 degrees just fine. Placing a hot pan directly on the countertop weakens the adhesive holding the laminate to the substrate. Explain to them how laminate is made.
